The Deep Peace Movement Gets Going!

The Billie Dean International Deep Peace Organisation

As I said in my blog, I am completely ready for large action, and just saying "no" to animal cruelty. Something has to shift. How about the entire paradigm? I've been saying for years that the astrology of this time was going to be like the 1960s on speed, so why not massive change for animals? It is the right time! I see the government saying "sorry" to them for taking away their children and forcing unspeakable horrors onto them. I see them being treated with respect and reverence. I see an entirely different world to the one we have now and that is what the Deep Peace Movement is all about -- helping to create that new world of harmony, peace and respect. I have a number of initiatives I would like to get going with. I need supporters to help with these initiatives. It's all urgent. Animals are suffering every day, hoping that someone will help them. It's time to do more. Compassionate action is a measure of our humanity.  By continuing the cycles of violence, pain and … [Read more...]

Further Update on the Jeparit Ponies

Two Rescued Jeparit Ponies

This is a follow-up to my original blog post about the Jeparit ponies. July 29, 2011 Sadly, all the remaining Jeparit ponies were hunted down by riders on horseback and in vehicles.  And if they had to run and run until they were exhausted and could be killed, then surely they were fit enough to be saved. Like everyone else, I am thoroughly disgusted by the events and the way the authorities chose to act.  But we need to choose to act for peace instead of fuelling the fire with anger. There were 147 ponies saved, and the nearly 100 killed turned up during my Divine Love Healing Circle on July 15th as soon as I thought of them.  They were angry.  I worked shamanically with them to release them fully from their earthbound state and with lots of forgiveness.  They vanished soon after, lighter and definitely free to go the spirit realm of their choice. Later that night, a young Jeparit pony came to me as I communed with the pine trees.  She wanted to thank all of … [Read more...]

Light a Candle for Peace

Candles

July 29, 2011 This weekend is a New Moon, and not only will I be doing a Divine Love Healing Circle for all our beloved animal companions, but I would also like to invite you to join me in lighting a candle for peace and protection for animals on both Saturday and Sunday nights. This weekend has a lot of astrology giving our prayers and dreams for a better world some much needed oomph, and it is important we ask for what we want and not put energy into what we don’t want. There has been so much anger and upset around, especially at the treatment of animals being slaughtered for meat, and the callous slaughter of the Jeparit ponies, and now an innocent and healthy family dog threatened by the “authorities” who are only thinking in black and white about the Hendra virus. There could be alternative treatments which stop this virus, and the first thing I would be trying is a Raindrop Technique with Young Living medicinal grade essential oils.  I would also be using … [Read more...]

An Open Letter to Our Local MP, Dr. Mike Kelly, About Stopping Live Animal Exports

Here is the letter that Andrew and I sent to our local member Dr. Mike Kelly on May 31, 2011 Dear Dr Kelly, I am writing to you on behalf of myself and my wife, Billie Dean, in your capacity as our local member for Eden-Monaro and as Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. We must express our deepest concern, and indeed, outrage at the live export trade as conducted by Australia. While many of us have long felt that the current practice of shipping of animals to other countries is nothing short of evil incarnate, the images seen on 4Corners on ABC1 last night, May 30, 2011, including the treatment of animals and the slaughter practices in Indonesia, have once again brought into sharp relief just how unacceptable this is. We feel that Australia should not be involved in this form of trade and slaughter either actively or passively. It is no longer acceptable to treat animals in this way. We urge the Australian Government to stop this live trade … [Read more...]

Our Language and How We Treat Animals

Happy Dog

For years I have been agitating for a change to the language we use around animals.  I've written about it in my article How Can You Own a Soul? and extensively about it in my book Secret Animal Business. (The short version: words like "it", "pet", "owner" and "stock" are out, words like "he" or "she", "animal companion", "animal carer" and addressing animals by name are in.) I teach this to my students and I gave two lectures on it just on Sunday at the Sydney Vegan Expo. I truly believe if we change our language we can effect animal welfare in a very positive way.  We can help people understand that animals are not things or toys and they aren't disposable.  They are true members of our family.  They are teachers, guardians and kin.  They deserve love and respect.  They are intelligent and sentient -- and they have souls. Language is very, very important.  It's time we stopped using language around animals that depersonalises, that creates distance, that in any way … [Read more...]
