The Magic of Cedar

Cedar

Cedar

My back is held by an ancient tree and the yellow leaves fall around me, reminding me that everything has a season.

A small, red-breasted robin leaps about in front of me. He obviously had a message and I listened.

“Cheer up,” he said. “We are all soul family. Cheer up. There are countless birds in the trees, and they do not want your heart to be sad. She was a child of the Dana, as you are. Nobody wants you to be sad.”

He was referring to my dog Cedar who just passed away, leaving me with only seven rescue dogs and a deeply grieving heart. Cedar was a cattle dog, a red heeler, who was anxious and fearful, but who lost herself in the art of play. As her fellow pack mates left this plane, one by one, Cedar was left to play with the new puppies we brought home. And she thrived on it.

She was the one who came for long walks with the younger dogs, and strove to outwit them at ball games. She was lively and so healthy, the only ailment she ever had were the injuries she received from playing too hard.

Life is for Living – to the very end!

“Life is for living,” she said, as she lay in her final hours. “Tell that to the people. Say it on facebook.”

I couldn’t believe this strong, healthy dog was leaving me. She was only 15, hardy and vital. But she created a lump to take her out, and sent me on a journey of tests and trials forcing me to accept the mastery teachings of Divine Love and Surrender. In healing we say there is a difference between a healing and a cure. Cedar had her healing – so much so that her soul no longer needed to stay.

And now she wanted to speak, and she had a lot to say.

“Tell people my story and tell them that dogs are intelligent. We are not to be underestimated. We are a species not unlike your own but so many people treat us as if we are less than,” she said.

“We are just different.”

As she said the words she sent me a flurry of pictures – telepathy is like that. It is beyond words. It is complete thought transference. I felt the pain of dog kind as they are subjected to all kinds of abuse in the name of dog training and dog control. Even dog love.

We are not their parents, they are not our children. They are our sisters and brothers on this great Earth walk. Inside their furry bodies, their souls are unique, as ours are.

They speak a language and it is a language everyone can hear. It’s called telepathy and every single human being is born with it. Most people don’t listen because talking with animal kind is just not acceptable, or thought possible.

But we can. And today we need to.

For if we listened to what the world had to say, we would all live so very differently.

Simple Lores for Joyful Living

Cedar had had her last car ride into the city, another great joy. She lay on her dog bed and dictated a message to you:

To humankind:

“Some of us come from other worlds and other dimensions. Some of us are new to dog bodies. I came to experience death and dying, because where I come from, there is none of that.

“We are all on the threshold of a whole new journey, where the truth will be revealed and you can live in splendour and harmony with all our kind.

“But the future is not set in stone and our kind are beginning to despair. You need to walk with your hearts and we see that almost all of you have your hearts closed. You are afraid to love. You do not know the word love even as you think you do. For if you truly loved you would not abuse each other and you would not abuse our kind.

“You must understand that if you do not listen with your hearts, we have only one path of expression and that is the way we act. The way we behave.

“There are so many of my kind crying because they are not being heard. This is a time for celebration and yet humans are in tears and committing acts of violence because they do not understand the simple lores.”

I asked her to explain the lores to you:

“See all beings as equal and honourable,” she said.

“Love with an open heart and always forgive.

“Live with joy every moment you can.

“Boredom is death to our species.”

Cedar had a lot more to say, and asked me to put it into a book. “Write, ” she told me. “It makes you happy.”

I sat with her all through the night, cuddling her golden fur as I stared out the window at the incredibly clear and starry night. “I will see you in the fifth dimension,” she said. And went on to fill me with a yearning for the fifth dimension like I never had before. A life where we really are free – free from outdated thinking, pain, suffering, and greed. A life governed by the heart and the heart only.

When Cedar slipped peacefully into the other realms, I kept holding her. It took me a long time to let her go.

To honour Cedar, please consider the animals in your home, and instead of frowning at their behaviour, wonder at it.

What is the communication behind the behaviour? What is your animal trying to say to you? How are you behaving or feeling that your animal is mirroring to you?

Let me give you an example. Last night I was woken up hearing the sound of one of my precious essential oils drop on the floor. I knew it was one of the bush rats and got up to rescue the oil. They are expensive after all. My oils, herbs, supplements and homeopathy were all crowded on the kitchen table, a stark reminder of my long battle for my dog. Interestingly, I saw the cheeky bush rat scurry away behind the old wood stove, and wondered for a moment why she had revealed herself. I looked on the floor to find the oil bottle called — Peace and Calming.

Peace and Calming. My senses were on red alert. This was an oil I had often used for Cedar. This was no “ordinary” rat cheekiness. I picked up the oil and thanked the rat for being the messenger for Cedar-in-spirit. I was in total tear-filled gratitude for that perfect reminder and message that Cedar was at peace and wanted me to be too.
